A Look at the First 10 World Series of Poker Tournaments in 2010

With the first 10 of the 57 scheduled tournaments completed I decided to take a look at the 10 winners thus far, and offer up some statistics on the first 10 tournaments.
First some statistics, courtesy of the WSOP.com:
- 7 Professionals have won bracelets compared to 3 amateur players
- The United States has produced 5 champions -2 of which are originally from Vietnam, Canada 2, England 2, and Hungary 1
- The total attendance of the 10 tournaments is 11,882
- $21,631,200 in prize money has already been awarded
The first 10 events at the 2010 World Series of Poker including buy-in, structure and winners for each:
- Event #1: $500 Casino Employee winner Hoai Pham (1st WSOP bracelet)
- Event #2: $50,000 Players Championship winner Mike “The Grinder” Mizrachi (1st WSOP bracelet)
- Event #3: $1,000 NLHE winner Aadam Daya (1st WSOP bracelet)
- Event #4: $1,500 Omaha 8 or better winner Michael Chow (1st WSOP bracelet)
- Event #5: $1,500 NLHE winner Praz Bansi (2nd WSOP bracelet)
- Event #6: $5,000 No Limit Holdem Shootout winner Joshua Tieman (1st WSOP bracelet)
- Event #7: $1,500 2-7 Triple Draw winner Peter Gelencser (1st WSOP bracelet)
- Event #8: $1,500 NLHE winner Pascal LeFrancois (1st WSOP bracelet)
- Event #9: $1,500 Pot Limit Holdem winner James Dempsey (1st WSOP bracelet)
- Event #10: $10,000 7-Card-Stud World Championship winner Men “The Master” Nguyen (7th WSOP bracelet)
News and Notes from the 2010 WSOP:
- Mike Mizrachi captured his 1st WSOP bracelet in event #2, and went on to finish 6th in event #10
- Mizrachi and Vladimir Schmelev -who finished 2nd to “The Grinder in event #2-are the only players to reach two final tables: The pair finished 6th and 7th in event #10
- Phil Hellmuth made a deep run, but came up short in his quest for bracelet #12; finishing 15th in event #8
- Hellmuth added to his WSOP record for cashes with 76
- JJ Liu has the highest finish by a female at the 2010 WSOP; Liu finished 3rd in event #9
- Three females placed in the top 13 of enevt #9: the aforementioned JJ Liu in 3rd place, Julie Farkas in 10th place, and Melissa Hayden in 13th place
- Men Nguyen won his 7th WSOP bracelet in event #10 tying him with Billy Baxter and Phil Ivey for 6th place all-time, trailing only Erik Seidel, Johnny Moss, Johhny Chan, Doyle Brunson and Phil Hellmuth.
- Nguyen also kept pace with Phil Hellmuth for most WSOP cashes: Nguyen is in 2nd place with 67 cashes
- Nguyen and Artie Cobb are the only players in WSOP history with 3 bracelets in 7-Card-Stud high only
