Full Tilt Poker has long been one of the main drivers of ingenuity and innovation in the world of online poker, but what they have just come up with could possibly be their greatest triumph ever. Created with the idea that action junkies should never have to wait in mind, Rush Poker is the newest attempt by Full Tilt Poker to make the action faster and more intense.
The Concept
The concept for Rush Poker at Full Tilt Poker is quite simple. Instead of joining a table at a particular online poker variant and level, you instead join a pool of players that are interested in playing at that particular game and limit. The players are divided up into different tables based on their availability at the current moment in time. If you fold, instead of staying in the hand you’ll get transported to another table immediately where another hand is beginning. Tables are created and deleted depending on need and nobody should ever have to wait for a game because they can automatically be sent to a table with other players that have recently folded hands in order to start a new hand up.
The Trade-Off
Rush Poker is a revolutionary idea and it is one that is definitely great for online action junkies. No longer do you have to play as many tables at the same time because now you don’t have to wait for a hand to finish before you start a new one. The moment you’ve folded, it’s off to a new table to play in a new hand with a new group of people. There’s no lull and therefore action junkies will absolutely appreciate the extra rush of online poker action they can get since it’s not uncommon for a Rush Poker online poker table to clear 250 to 300 hands an hour.
On the other side of the coin however is the fact that traditional poker information such as tells and betting patterns are almost entirely removed from the game. Because you play against new players basically each hand, you can only really notice multiple hands from the same player if you’re really focused in and they really stay around for a long time. With 300 hands available, many players will probably just play online for an hour and in that time even you saw them multiple times there would likely be many other hands between them. Therefore, the action gained is at the expense of information lost. For most online players though, this is definitely a price that is worth it.
The Future
At the moment, Full Tilt Poker’s new Rush Poker model is only available for some of the lower limits on Texas Hold ‘Em and Omaha. As time goes on and they gain a patent for the idea, one can expect these services to be expanded if and when demand makes Full Tilt Poker conclude that many more people want to play Rush Poker across more levels and poker variants.
